I think we can all agree that food is one of the most important and interesting part about traveling! When you visit another country you know that local food is an important part of the experience and with Morocco being famous for its cuisine - you have something to look forward to!
No matter if you are a super-chef at home, or have zero experiences in the kitchen we highly recommend taking a cooking class! This experience goes beyond learning how to make a traditionel Moroccan meal! It will give you an unique inside knowledge of Moroccan culture and history -shown and taught by local berber woman. This is also your chance to spend time, ask questions and interact with locals.
The cooking class starts in the souk - the local market. At the souk we get all the ingredients and supplies for the class. The souk in it self is a beautiful place and a great way to see how the local shopping looks like. In the souk you will see all the spices, taste the fresh fruits and maybe discover vegetables you dont have in your home country.
After the souk we drive 10 minutes to the place where the magic will happen!
At arrival we start in the traditional way - with some tea!
The place is hard to describe. Its a outdoor kitchen with a cute little garden, overlooking the mountains.
The cooking class will start with the nicest and funniest berber woman who will explain you everything you need to know, and help you all the way! They normally play some traditional music and show you some dance moves!
When the meal is done, there is time to explore the area before we sit down to eat!
