We all know that post holiday blues. That boring everyday feeling after your exotic getaway. Don't panic! Here's 10 good things you can take home, to make your life more Moroccan!
1. Mint tea!
You can make a nice pot of mint tea and add a ton of sugar to achieve that familiar taste of moroccan whiskey that you have enjoyed after dinner on your holiday. simple!
2. Hammam!
Yes, you can get that ekstra clean well scrubbed feeling at home. The hammams here sell their soap and the scrubbing gloves too, so you can make your own hammam session at home!
3. Moroccan food!
We have a great recipe for Loubnas famous veggie pastillas. Allthough you can't really put her personal touch in a recipe, we tried to make them and they were delicious!
4. Yallah!
If traffic is slow, roll down your window, honk the horn and shout Yallah! As loud as you can (disclaimer: if you like to be popular, maybe skip this one - or only do it to your friends)
5. Amlou
Mmmmm do we really have to explain this? It's delicious, you can put it in/on everything and it comes in both peanut and almond flavour, and it's arganoil, so must be healthy, right?!
6. Argan Oil
Speaking of argan oil, it will also help your dry skin and hair. So get it from the only place in which it grows, the Agadir region of Morocco and help the local people who make it!
7. Souk
Ok, you won't find the Moroccan souks in let's say Denmark, but if you go to the farmers market, you can get a taste of the experience. Local, fresh veggetables and delicious stuff that you are welcome to taste. A slow pace, no plastic packaging and if you are lucky - sunshine.
8. NosNos
You can make Moroccan nosnos at home. It just means halfhalf, so its half coffee half milk and you can add your own sugar if you don't like it quite so sweet.
9. Berber taxi
Try to fit as many people and their luggage in your car as possible and maybe a few chickens if you are going to the market? (disclaimer: this might be illegal in your country, so only if you can afford the fine)
10. Inchallah!
Do you hate making plans well into the future? Are you always affraid you will get a better offer? Here's the reply that works everytime: Inchallah! it means God willing (Allah of course) so if you don't show up, I guess Allah didn't want it to happen. And who are you to argue with that?
